The Kazuo Masuda VFW Post 3670 recently recognized Eagle Scout Brandon Miyasato of Orange County Buddhist Church Boy Scout Troop 578 as a recipient of its annual Scout of the Year award.

The National Veterans of Foreign Wars program honors exceptional scouts who exemplify leadership, service, and character.

Brandon, a senior at Fullerton High School, earned his Eagle Scout rank in December after years of dedication to scouting, beginning as a Cub Scout. In addition to his scouting achievements, he serves as captain of the varsity cross country team and competes in hurdles on the varsity track and field team.

A scholar athlete and honors student, Brandon balances academics, athletics, and extensive community service.

His Eagle project, which benefited a cause close to his heart, showcased his leadership and organizational skills. Brandon also participated in an international scouting trip to Belize, where he connected with local scouts and embraced new cultural experiences.

From food and clothing drives to volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club and first responder appreciation efforts, Brandon’s service record is impressive. He is a shining example of youth leadership and community spirit.

Brandon will be attending Cal State Fullerton in the fall.
